I have so many coffee shops I need to visit and not enough time.
One of them on my list is the new Solo Cafe. I actually received an email recently from the owners.
My name is Andrew-Liam Kelsey. My business partner Chad Bare and I recently opened a coffee shop in Tempe called Solo Cafe, and […]

CupZ in Scottsdale changes name to Gourmet Caffe

January 28, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

Chris Lee emailed me this morning to let me know of an interesting development for CupZ Coffee:
We headed out to CupZ at 136th & Via Linda (Scottsdale) this morning but the name had changed. It is called Gourmet Caffe. They were also closed. I didn’t see the specifics but thought the sign […]

What’s the point of free wifi if you block sites?

January 28, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

I was at Olive & Ivy recently and discovered that while they offer free wireless internet, they also block popular social networking web sites like LinkedIn and YouTube. What’s up with that? Why provide internet at all if you’re going to block it?

Thanks,

The store features a Hawaiian theme. Its decor includes surfboards, palm trees and sand.
Based in Salt Lake City, Bad Ass Coffee Co. of […]

$20,000 Coffee Maker

January 23, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

Check out this amazingly expensive coffee maker. The New York Times apparently got to sample it at the Blue Bottle Café in San Francisco. It costs $20,000.

Thanks to HB for the tip!

Price for Drip Coffee

January 23, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

How much should a cup of coffee cost? How much do you pay at your local coffee shop? Or if you own a shop or work at one, how much does a regular sized cup of coffee cost?
Starbucks is experimenting with $1 cups of coffee with free refills (not sure if this is in AZ […]

More on the Handpresso

January 21, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

Well the Handpresso sure got a lot of interest. I received an email this morning from a reader named Jay Brewer. Jay sent in a link to a review of the Handpresso which includes photos of the unboxing. Cool stuff, I might just order one of these. Also, here’s a neat video I found online.

Also, […]

Italia

January 20, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

My vacation destination this summer is Italy. Am I excited? Of course I am! A few of the cities I’ll be visiting include Florence, Venice, Rome, and Pompeii.
Most of all though, I’m curious to compare the coffee scene to America. Have any of you visited Italy before? What should I expect? I’m planning to stop […]

Found this great clip online and had to share!

Advertising in 2008

January 18, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

A year ago I accepted advertising on this site in 1-year commitments. That was great and now I’d like to offer advertising again for 2008. A big thank you to sponsors from 2007!
Banner Ad placement (Right Sidebar) - Advertising on Arizona Coffee places your message in front of thousands of coffee consumers, baristas, coffee house […]

Handpresso

January 18, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

One of the other interesting links that HB sent along to me was the Handpresso. For those curious, it’s basically a hand pump espresso extractor. The guidelines say to use cold water but there’s no doubt an interested camper out there that could heat some water ahead of time.
The company uses some pretty racey concepts […]

Brugo

January 17, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

If you have troubles with your coffee going cold while you drive around town, this product may interest you. It’s called Brugo and as you can see in the picture it has a small area near the lid that holds a small amount of coffee that cools as you sip. I honestly don’t even know […]

Commuter’s Warming/Cooling Mug

January 17, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

I received a few more links from HB and one of them was this neat Commuter’s Warming/Cooling Mug. You can plug it into the lighter adapter in your vehicle and use it to heat your coffee.

Fancy Mug with Its Own Holder

January 16, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

It’s fancy mug week on Arizona Coffee. This one was a tip from HB (thank you). The mug handle fits snug into the bottom of the cup which the designer describes as great for storage. I think of it more for impressing friends. They sell as a set of two for $39.00.

Espresso Italia

January 15, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

Austin Baker had a chance to try an espresso con panna made by a coffee catering company named Espresso Italia. They were apparently catering at the Barrett Jackson gala event. He had never heard of them so posted their info in the forum. I hadn’t either. Has anybody?

Radiator Coffee Mug Heater

January 15, 2008Posted by Chris Tingom

I don’t know a single person with a radiator heating system. At least nobody in Arizona. Despite that I think this is a terrific product idea. Just hope you don’t spill your coffee!
The ceramic tray’s feet nestle into a radiator’s gaps, securing it into place.

Thanks to hb for the tip!

Drink Selector Mug

For when you ask a friend to get you some coffee.

Thanks to hb for sending this link in.
