My new favorite non-coffee drink: The Italian Soda

February 13, 2006 Posted by Chris Tingom Filed under General

I almost considered calling this “the other Italian drink” because coffee — at least American coffee trends — tend to have their roots in Italy.

Well, my new favorite drink when I’m not having coffee is the Italian soda. Mmmm… they’re really good. See the cool photo (that one actually doesn’t have half and half which adds quite a bit to the flavor so just keep that in mind).

Here’s how I make mine:

  1. Crushed ice
  2. Half-cup of milk or half and half (sometimes I use both)
  3. Seltzer Water
  4. Whipped Cream
  5. Flavoring (get the Torani vanilla flavor for best results)

If anything, the Italian soda is a nice substitute when you’ve had too much coffee and you need to “clear your pallet” and it is generally less-sweet than a soda.

I need to stop by Cost Plus to get some more. I’ll have to do that tomorrow. I’m excited to make a drink for one of my clients. […]
