I visited Copper Star Coffee today
May 10, 2006 Posted by Chris Tingom Filed under Coffee
I had a few minutes today and needed a break so I jumped in my car and drove over to Copper Star Coffee (just north of Indian School Rd. on 7th Ave.). I have been anticipating this trip quite a while! For those that don’t know, Copper Star only opened 3-weeks ago.
First impression: Amazing building. It’s really big inside (super high ceiling), and I felt right at home on the big purple couch.
Second impression: I tried a cappuccino and one of the brownies (baked right there in the shop). Good stuff. I’m going to try a doppio macchiato next time so I can get a better idea about the espresso. I liked what I had today though.
Third impression: Very clean restrooms with neat sinks. I liked the menu by the door. It’s simply sheets of paper with a backlight. I actually didn’t even notice it until after ordering. Clever idea.
I didn’t introduce myself this trip however next time I stop in (June sometime) I’ll be sure to say hello to Bill and Ginger Sandweg. I didn’t have my camera but will bring it next time as well. Overall I do believe this place is one of my new favorites. They also offer free wireless internet.
